Beauty Favorites: The New

While I have promised you a YouTube video of my 2018 favourites (procrastination at it’s finest?), I still wanted to share some of the new products I recently added to my routine.

The key components are 0.5% Salicylic Acid, Tea Tree Oil, and a blend of botanicals ingredients known for purifying abilities and taking care of excess sebuem and dead skin cells. ail Serum by Mizon and Cosrx: Acne Pimple Master Patch.

During that time my skin had flared up which brought on a beautiful, bright-red, cystic, type of pimple. I was beginning to freak out until I remember I had previously bought a bottle of the Cosrx Salicylic Acid Daily Gentle Cleanser and all that I was worried about had soon been forgotten.

I had only used the cleanser for three days when I already noticed a huge improvement in my pimple. The redness had begun to fade which was almost a miracle. I had never had such luck with a product and automatically felt the need to share my experience! I could only imagine all the people with oily/combination skin who are walking around not knowing this product existed!

The key components are 0.5% Salicylic Acid, Tea Tree Oil, and a blend of botanicals ingredients known for it's purifying abilities and the removal of excess sebum and dead skin cells.

As a teen, whenever I heard ‘acid’ I automatically thought dry. Nowhere did it cross my mind that this was something to befriend. I had once tried to Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash Pink Grapefruit Foaming Cleanser which contained 2% Salicylic Acid and remembers it made my skin feel tight, so I finished the bottle and never looked back. Turns out I should have just found a cleanser with a lower acid percentage, but that’s another story for another day.

Shortly after my serum came in the mail, this time I decided to try their new version of the snail serum and got the Snail 80 Intensive Repairing Serum. The serum itself has a thicker consistency than the other one and with me being only a few days into using this product I haven’t made up my mind which serum I prefer.

The third product I received was the TonyMoly Floria Brightening Peeling Gel which contains AHA. I had finished using my peeling gel from Secret Key and really liked how my skin felt afterwards and now I’m obsessed with peeling gels. For those looking to exfoliate the skin without harming it should definitely go pick themselves up a bottle.

I have been doing a lot of research and found out that, although physical exfoliants are good for the skin (i.e. Clarisonic Brush, Facial Scrubs) but some like apricot scrubs can actually damage the skin. The seeds are broken down into little pieces and since they are not even pieces it causes little tears and cuts in your skin. Since discovering this, I have now switched out my St. Ives Apricot Scrub for a peeling gel.

This last product was a bit of a splurge because while I am adamant about using lotion all year round (I’m silently judging you if you don’t) because your body needs the moisture, it won’t get it from 2L of water a day. I recently noticed my hands have started looking gross because of my job (I used to work in a restaurant). Since I am constantly washing my hands I figured I would give them a little TLC and pick up a couple of packs of the Etude House Help My Finger Nail Pack. I haven’t actually heard anything about these specific products, it has more so, just been something I heard about in the #ABCommunity. In my opinion, most of the people who have reviewed them didn’t use them properly, so I am hopeful it will work well for me. I still haven’t gotten around to it though as I’m trying to plan a spa day for myself.

These have been just a few of some of my spring favourites, and although it can get frustrating trying to find a routine that works for you, it always helps to do your research and talk to a professional if you are truly struggling. While some of you may tell me I am lucky for being blessed with good skin, it has more so been the fact that I’ve always taken pride in my skin and have always been fairly self-aware when it comes to it.
