Some of you may have noticed these products from my Instagram story and I wanted to try it out for a couple of weeks before I gave my opinion.
With 2018 to an end, so was the same for my Secret Key essence. Since I wasn’t the biggest fan of the original Starting Treatment Essence I decided to search for a new one.
During my search, I stumbled upon the Snail & Azulene Water Essence by Tiam. The first thing to catch my eye was the packaging; something about the vibrant purple label gave me hope I would like this product. Although the Snail & Azulene essence was formulated for those with dry and sensitive skin, I was optimistic it would be safe for my inflamed acne.
Azulene is known for its ability to treat inflamed and irritated acne, while also repairing damaged skin cells. So to say I had high hopes for this product was an understatement.

Azulene is also an acne prone persons dream, as it is very useful as an antiseptic since it has anti-bacterial properties. Not only, but it also protects damaged skin from the sun rays. Although it is always recommended to follow up with sun protection as this skin is more vulnerable during this process. The first thing I had noticed is that it has a thicker consistency that Secret Key’s essences. I would assume since snail mucin has such a heavy consistency it causes the essence to have more of an emulsion type of velocity.
I didn’t notice much the first week but gradually I began to notice a my skin begin to brighten. While part of me still prefers the lightness of Secret Key’s essence, I am very pleased that this product has helped my irritated acne. I particularly recommend those who are acne prone or to be used as a treatment essence!
Next on the list is Innisfree’s Orchid Eye Cream; a product that is highly loved but I have no idea if it really is worth the hype. Over the year I kept hearing a lot about the Orchid Eye Cream, how great it is, how one person ultimately used it as a face cream and so on for. So naturally, I was curious; how was this product going to perform for me? As someone with oily/combo skin, I was nervous that this was going to be another eye cream where I didn’t notice a difference and just felt like I was caking on creams.
Much to my disappointment, this was a similar case. While it has been helping hydrate my skin, I personally do not see a difference when it comes to my hyperpigmentation. The container itself holds 30 ml of products which is a lot in comparison to most eye creams on the market.

To put it simply, I kind of feel short-changed; on one hand you get a lot of product which is comforting to know your dollar isn’t being wasted and on the other hand, I feel let down by this product. It didn’t live up to any of its claims for me but I won’t blame the product, it could be that it may be better suited for those with normal or dry skin.
If anyone has tried the Innisfree Orchid Eye Cream, comment below and let me know how you felt! Did you feel it helped treat your problem areas? Or maybe you felt let down as well, let me know down below! I’d love to hear your thoughts.
The Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask is something I’m sure everyone knows about so I don’t really feel like I need to add to the mix, but what I will say is that I really love how moisturizing this mask is! While I do normally include my lips in my skincare process it never crossed my mind to get a sleeping mask? It almost sounds funny when you say it out loud, but it’s a step that shouldn’t be forgotten and a step that I genuinely love since I discovered it.
Thanks to it being rich in Vitamin C, it to gently lifts away dead skin cells, making your lips feel plump and smooth.
Until recently I had not tried Jayjun’s line, though I’ve always wanted to try their eye gel masks! It looks so refreshing and I know I would love something like that for the summer. I can’t only imagine how the cool gel must feel on your skin.
Jayjun is a brand that’s well loved and respected throughout the beauty community, the company is founded by a group of plastic surgeons, dermatologists, and professional cosmetics researchers that look to use the best ingredients to create skin care products to help resolve skin problems.
One of Jayjun’s best selling sheet masks is the Rose Blooming Mask. While the packaging is very cute, I personally did not like the scent of the serum. Something about the rose was so overpowering it almost felt little nauseating. I’ve always like floral scents, but this product just felt synthetic, almost like a cheap lip gloss you’d find from the dollar store.

About ten minutes after I applied the sheet mask I noticed my face began to tingle. Not much, and it wasn’t painful, it was just distracting. Granted it may have been the result of my Tonymoly Peeling Gel, as I had washed my face with it prior to applying the sheet mask. In the morning I noticed my skin felt very soft since I only had used it twice I didn’t notice a significant difference; more so, I felt like my skin was very dewy and a little brighter but that also could because of my skincare routine in general. While it did hydrate my skin and helped even out my skin tone, it wasn’t a significant change. I am curious to see how it would make a difference long term.
This isn’t so new but I still felt the need to add this into the mix. The Sleepy body lotion from Lush has, by far, the most addictive scent ever! I received this as a gift from a friend of mine, and I’m absolutely in love with it! Not to mention, my boyfriend keeps stealing it every time he comes over so it doesn’t help my predicament! Some of the key ingredients include oat milk, lavender, cocoa butter, and almond oil; which will not only allow you to fall asleep peacefully but will leave you feeling silky smooth in the morning.

Formula 10.0.6 Three Times Sublime, a very long title to describe a 3 in 1, blackhead wash, scrub, and mask. Just reading this made me hesitant because when I hear 3 in 1 for hair products, I immediately know that product won’t deliver even half of what it promises. But when it comes to skincare, I am naturally just as hesitant. Will it really work? Is it going to mess up my skin on a microscopic level? These are just some of the questions and concerns running through my mind when I pick up a product like this. In my personal opinion, I highly doubt products like these will work and the best part is that I can’t even remember how I got it! So it was truly an experience for us all.
Generally speaking, they’re just created as a “gimmick” to get you to spend more money. If you’re going to wash your face, wash your face, and if you are going to exfoliate, then do it; but to combine the two just to “save time” is usually counterproductive as it can cause more damage in the long term.
The same can go for two in one shampoo; the worst thing you could use a two in one on your hair. It won’t properly clean the residue build-up nor will it soften it the way a conditioner properly can.

To get back on topic, much to my surprise, I was truly surprised by this product. The consistency is similar to a clay mask but within the paste, it contains granules to help remove the dead skin. While I can’t be completely sure if it is tearing my skin on a microscopic level but I was pleasantly surprised by how soft my skin felt afterwards. Would I repurchase this product? Probably not as I don’t really trust 3 in 1, but I did try to use this product a couple more times before I truly gave up on it. Since getting rid of my St. Ives Apricot Scrub, I prefer this over the later as the granules are much smaller and less abrasive on the skin. Still, one can never be sure of the damage it can cause so I might just stick with my chemical peels and do some more research on safe physical exfoliants for the skin.
I hope this post has been informative for you, I truly love producing content that you all can learn a thing or two from. Whether it be what not to do, or interest you to try something new, I love knowing I can help you however that may be! Have you tried any of these products, do you feel the same way or differently; I’d love to hear your opinion!
